Happy Holidays from Concordia!

"Big visions require humble beginnings,"
Strive Masiyiwa
Group Executive Chairman of Econet Wireless Global
2018 Concordia Leadership Award Recipient
As we near the end of yet another year, we reflect on the past seven years since Concordia's founding, and as we do so, these words, spoken by Strive Masiyiwa at the 2018 Concordia Annual Summit, resonate particularly strongly.

Concordia was founded in the tenth anniversary of September 11, with its origins focused on combating the root causes the extremism through open dialogue and collaboration between businesses, governments, and NGOs. Since 2011, Concordia has experienced a period of tremendous growth, and 2018 has marked a critical stage in this journey. From hosting our third Americas Summit in Bogotá, Colombia, serving as the first major international convening following the country's presidential elections, to our eighth Annual Summit in New York City, the largest nonpartisan convening alongside the UN General Assembly, Concordia has continued on its path of creating a community of unlikely partners to facilitate meaningful progress to the world's challenges.

And as we open 2019 with the official launch of Concordia Africa—another reason why we use this opportunity to remind ourselves of Strive's wisdom—a year of significant development lies ahead. Building on many of the conversations that took place at the 2018 Annual Summit, the first stage of our Concordia Africa Initiative will feature a day-long summit in London on February 28, 2019, laying the foundations for Concordia to host its first event on African soil in December 2019.

In the meantime, we are also excited to be returning to Bogotá on May 13-14 to welcome regional and global leaders to our fourth Americas Summit, as well as Europe in June (more information to be released on this exciting initiative shortly) and, of course, New York City on September 22-24.

As always, we thank you for your continued support and dedication, without which we would not be where we are today. Our community remains integral to our development and direction as an organization, and we look forward to working with you closely over the coming months.

Happy Holidays and thank you, again!
