Just six months have passed since President Iván Duque Márquez was sworn into office as Colombia's youngest president of the modern era. In that short time, the country has already shown signs of advancing into a new generation—one characterized by transformation, progression, and opportunity. Last week, Concordia welcomed President Duque to the U.S. to explore the role of cross-sector collaboration in driving a future of unity for Latin America as a whole. Concordia hosts dinner with President Duque in Washington, D.C. Last Wednesday, February 13th, Concordia was honored to host President Duque for dinner to mark the occasion of his visit to Washington, D.C. The intimate dinner provided an opportunity to hear first-hand from the President himself on not just the progress underway in Colombia, but also on the pressing nature of Venezuela's humanitarian crisis. The dinner also marked the announcement of Concordia's first international office in Bogotá, Colombia, opening this year. Additional speakers included Morgan Ortagus, Concordia Advisor, National Security Analyst, and Fox News Contributor, and Concordia Co-Founders Matthew Swift and Nicholas Logothetis. Concordia welcomes President Duque to NYSE Closing Bell Ceremony in New York City Two days later, on Friday, February 15th, Concordia welcomed President Duque to New York City for the ringing of the historic NYSE Bell at the Closing Bell Ceremony, marking the end of trading on Wall Street. In his remarks, the President examined the future of Colombia and emphasized the country as a place to do business. Concordia Members had the opportunity to participate in the ceremony, while listening to President Duque's address and networking with other attendees.
